The first website I was assigned to produce, in 1999, was about an animated TV special, entitled Something From Nothing, based on a children’s book of the same title by a Canadian author Phoebe Gilman. It was a challenge since, unlike a book, a TV show does not come in a unique “container” prone to promotion. It could be on a tape, on a disk, in a number of formats in fact. The site has long ago been taken down, but the experience gained was invaluable.
As years passed, content management systems became popular, so I learned Joomla and later WordPress. I participated in the production of Web presentations and intranet portals of the Serbian Ministry of Energy & Mining and the Ministry of Finance, as well as on a collaboration of the Belgrade city social services and the Faculty of Political Sciences with a focus on mediation.
I structured and wrote texts for commercial and non-profit websites alike – the first web presentation by Kelvin Foods, an upgrade of the site for a well-known Belgrade multimedia venue Leonardo Centre, the Belgrade Film Critics’ Society’s website and more, with the bilingual website of the EU-funded Razvionica being the most recent project.
Over the years, I developed and maintained several websites of my own, in Serbian, for the local and regional markets.
My next Web project is helping Serbian exporters create or improve their Web pages in English. Please contact me if you wish to discuss this option.
